HIV/AIDS

BIRUDO, Buliisa Town Council and Alliance of Mayors and Municipal Leaders Initiative for Community Action on HIV/AIDS (AMICAALL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in February 2012 to share the objective of providing effective HIV/AIDS and Orphans and Other Vulnerable Children (OVCs) services to contribute to the attainment of the goals of the Government of Uganda’s NSP, NSPPI and other relevant plans and policies in Uganda.

BIRUDO, Buliisa Town Council and AMICAALL are desirous of engaging in tripartite partnership in pursuit of the following objectives for the achievement of a project called ‘Scaling Up HIV Preventions among Most at Risk Populations (MARPS) in Urban and Peri-Urban Areas in Uganda’. The objectives are as follows:

  1. To strengthen urban local government systems and structures to effectively coordinate and advocate for HIV/AIDS prevention services targeting MARPS;
  2. To increase access and utilization of comprehensive HIV prevention services by 113,750 MARPS for HIV prevention;
  3. To strengthen the technical and institutional capacity of 10 Civil Society Funds funded by Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to provide quality HIV/AIDS and OVC services;
  4. To establish a functional project monitoring and evaluation system at AMICAALL and its implementing partners.
